✨ Founding Member Spotlight: Lauren Dandridge, LC, IES

BUILD doesn't exist without people like Lauren.

As a founding member and advisor, Lauren has been part of the vision from the beginning. She firmly believes that the lighting industry is more innovative and more human when Black designers have a seat at the table, a supportive community, and the visibility they deserve.

Lauren is the Principal of Chromatic, Inc., a lighting design firm she built on the conviction that quality design and equitable design are not separate goals, they are one and the same. She's also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the USC School of Architecture, where for over a decade she has been one of the only Black women in the room, using that position not just to teach lighting, but to remind students that the path doesn't have to be a straight line.

Lauren has judged international design competitions. She has answered cold calls from young designers who needed a door opened. She has stood in front of classrooms full of students who weren't expecting to be inspired and changed their minds about what this industry could hold for them.

That spirit is exactly what BUILD was built on.

We are proud and grateful to have Lauren as part of our foundation. 🙏🏾
