Why BUILD?

The lighting industry shapes how we experience every space we inhabit from our workplaces, our schools, our homes, to our cities. Yet for too long, the people designing those spaces haven't reflected the full diversity of the people living in them.

Black United in Lighting & Design (BUILD) exists to change that. We are a growing community of Black lighting professionals and emerging designers who are redefining what the industry looks like, and what it can be.
